NEW RESEARCH POSITION ON WILLOW PROJECT AT SUNY ESF

Syracuse, NY -- August 18, 2015 -- The SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry (SUNY ESF) Department of Forest and Natural Resources Management is in search of a Senior Research Support Specialist to assist with the Willow Project and woody biomass research.  According to the position description, the "candidate will be actively involved with willow crop planting and management related to the implementation of field research and demonstration aspects of the willow and woody biomass project." NEW YORK WOOD ENERGY TEAM HOLDS 1ST BIOENERGY LAB

Syracuse, NY -- May 10, 2015 -- In late April, the New York State Wood Energy Team (NYSWET) held its first Bioenergy Lab, a workshop for potential users of bioenergy for heating, at Schaefer's Gardens, in Triangle, NY. The Lab, which was held in conjunction with the Schaefer's Gardens' Open House, was attended by over forty individuals.  The NYSWET will continue to offer Labs, which include an educational presentation, a demonstration and tour of a bioenergy heating unit, and the opportunity to access technical assistance for feasibility analyses and funding opportunities.  The next Lab will be offered at the Clean Energy Economy Conference, June 11 and 12, at SUNY Polytechnic, in Utica, NY.
